Standing Out In The Sea of Trade Show Displays

It has been said that you have only a few seconds to make a first impression. In the bustling environment of a trade show this is very true. More important however, you have very little time to grab the attention of people hurrying to get to the next exhibit or display.

How then do you make your display booths stand out in the crowded show floor so that it gets the attention it deserves and that your company needs? One way is to be sure the display you choose is appropriate for the event and venue. Choosing a display that best represents the company image, including services and products, is important as the presentation to the public. Smaller budgets may benefit more opting to purchase a more economical display such as the portable displays. While larger companies with increased trade show budgets may prefer the more elaborate truss or modular displays.

Once you have chosen the perfect display, how do you encourage people to come in? Perhaps the most important aspect of any trade show exhibit is the display staff involved. Friendly staff that welcome visitors warmly and make them feel at home will continue to draw people into your display area. Appropriate dress such as company shirts or caps, grooming and a winning personality will reflect a professional image onto your company and give you a much needed edge.

The Outdoors A Growing Venue For Display and Promotional Marketing

It’s impossible to drive down a street where businesses can be found without having at least one or two things of interest jump out at you. Not literally speaking of course, unless you want to count the people dressed up like chickens, hot dogs, tires, or pizza’s that are advertising as they beckon you from the curbside. No, I’m talking about other forms of outside advertising, such as outdoor displays, outdoor signs, advertising flags, a frame signs, and even promotional tents.

It works because it gets your attention. Whether your attention is drawn by the flashing lights on the portable outdoor sign, or that huge blow up guy that bends and sways in the wind, or that colorful line up of action flags flapping in the wind, all are attention getters in the finest sense of the word. Once our eyes are drawn in that direction, we have no choice but to soak in the scene, thereby engaging our minds into the next step of paying attention. Once we start paying attention, that’s when the advertising has really begun.

Outdoor advertising is becoming a big business and it gets big business for the people that choose to use it. Be it banners, flags, tents, portable signs, or flags flying in the wind. As consumers we may not notice that advertisement in the paper but we can’t miss the advertising that goes on outside, all around us, everyday.

When It Comes to Trade Show Marketing, Clutter is Not Your Friend

Think of the best trade show display that you’ve ever seen. Did it have boxes of papers on the floor, someone’s purse tucked away in a corner and brochures scattered all over the counter?

Of course not! A good trade show display or pop up display will have plenty of open space, so that customers can move freely through the area and look at your display. It will also be free of visual clutter, so that your display and your friendly sales representative are the center of attention.

To achieve the Zen simplicity that every good trade show display has, install trade show counters. The counters serve several purposes. They are a good place for booth reps and customers to stand around, chat, and write notes on the backs of their business cards. They also serve as storage for the clutter that inevitably accumulates in a booth.

Note that the trade show counter should NOT be covered by brochures and other literature. If your trade show display does not have built-in literature racks, you should purchase some portable standalone racks. The rack can sit on the counter or it can be free-standing, as long your customers have room to move about freely.

If you smart you will plan ahead and have ample storage to help keep your booth clutter-free and inviting.
